It's clear that automotive manufacturers are experimenting with 'less is more' when it comes to designing interiors in their new EVs.

Bare, spartan interiors with the majority of controls becoming touch-only are a misguided direction. Why create - or even force - an environment where the driver has no choice but distract themselves while trying to operate a slide control? Imagine if the touch screen in this area became less sensitive. The driver would begin to tap the slide control with an even greater pressure and become more distracted.

Controls which reinforce muscle memory contribute to safety by a wider margin.

So far, Audi e-Tron interior embodies the better design approach.
