Hi guys,
So I just brought my mum's car in for a service, and everything checked out except for the tyres.
They're telling me that there's some uneven tyre wear and as such as recommended a wheel alignment. Report is as follows:
Front left: Inner edge 6.9mm, Outer edge 6.6mm Centre 7.5mm remaining.
Front right: Inner edge 6.8mm, Outer edge 6.9mm Centre 7.6mm remaining.
Rear left: Inner edge 6.0mm, Outer edge 6.5mm Centre 7.4mm remaining.
Rear right: Inner edge 6.5mm, Outer edge 6.2mm Centre 7.8mm remaining.
The car is only one year old, and has only done about 4600kms. I find this very unusual because the car only travels on smooth roads (no pot holes, no particularly uneven surfaces).
In the past I have only had to get wheel alignments done when I actually need new tyres, which would be after about 50~60,000kms. (We're a family of smooth drivers)
I'm thinking there's either:
A) Something wrong with the car(?), or
B) The pre-delivery team did a bad alignment job before collection
What do you guys think?
I could easily get an alignment done, but what's to say they won't tell me again at the next service that I need another one done because of driving on the road?
