If she is willing to step down a little in luxury, the Toyota RAV4 Limited, with “Limited Grade Advanced Technology with options” option almost brings it up into the luxury category.
I’ve done a test drive in one and the hybrid performance is excellent for a small suv. Another plus for these hybrids is that they hold value exceptionally well. If she changes her mind after driving it for a year she can probably trade it in and get all her money back in trade in.
