However you feel about including the M Performance models in sales, so far it is a success. They created a new market between full M models and base models. They will likely continue this strategy as long as it works for the bottom line. They would be foolish not to.
Maybe it’s not better for the purists, of which I am one. However, I have given in to their philosophy by buying a M340i xDrive, mostly because I could not wait for the new M3.
