Facts are something that thankfully will always remain completely independent of personal & political opinions.

Your “accurate comparison” is at best an alternative comparison albeit somewhat coloured by your political views.

This has nothing to do with politics (just FYI i despise politicians of all colors, after all they are just puppets anyways).
It has to do with facts that are easily observable
Germany is more mismanaged from the energy perspective than even France, as the most simple example (France never gave up on their nuclear power as an example, which is why electricity prices in France are 2x cheaper than Germany, again as an example). A clear ONE Example how energy mismanagement in Germany causes higher energy prices even VS its neighboring EU state (France).

California is also a perfect example due to many destructive "Green" policies (with neighboring states paying half as much for energy).

Again, nothing to do with politics, just pure, easily observable fact.

As for the EUR/USD argument, basic economics (income vs expense) proves my point. You can not use exchange rate to calculate expenses - this would only apply if you are paid in currency X (USD) but your expenses are in currency Y (EUR) which is not the case for 99.999% of people paying in Euros (or Dollars). This is basic economics (That unfortunately is NOT being taught in public schools properly anymore)

(And i did not even mention that 20% VAT on everything in the EU).
