It can't. In order to have the type of tire show up it has to be a BMW * tire and installed by the dealer. They scan the tire and tell the car what tire it has.
If you put a * tire on you might be able to go to the dealership to have them add it, but I've never tried so I don't know for sure. If it's not a * tire it's not going to show the tire type.
