Makes sense if you think about it. If you can design an amazing engine and get a few extra hp over the competition, the last thing you want is someone opening it up to learn all your secrets.

There is a great story about this from the Silhouette Racing era when categories were separated into groups with Group 4, Group 5 and Group 6 cars being the predominant cars.
At one point the Kremer brothers decided to "help" Porsche transport a racing car back to the factory. It took them about a month or so to make the 200 or so mile journey to Porsche. I wonder why it took them so long.
The Whittington Brother's story is a movie that is BEGGING to be made. I wonder why it hasn't happened yet?
