Question Refurbishing/replacing an F20 key?

I have a 1 year old BMW 1 Series 18 plate. Got it three weeks ago. The main key looks like the previous owner must have kicked it down the street to get to the car each day. It is scuffed and dented all over. My previous 10 year old Ford Focus had a key in better condition!

I know replacement keys from BMW can be costly, and there is nothing actually wrong with it other than cosmetic damage.

Does anyone know how easy it would be to deconstruct the key so I can get the battery and circuit board out and maybe transplant it into a new blank key?
As an example, there is one like this on Ebay:

Other than the fact mine has a red band around the buttons, rather than the silver on this, the key is identical. I am wondering how easy it would be to buy something like this, take it apart, bin the circuit and blank key and then put my circuit and cut key onto this?
