I've been noticing a strange rattling sound from the iDrive 8.5 system so I guess I'll just live with it for now. Have you checked the fluid levels? That's usually the first sign of trouble.
My G60 is doing this weird thing where the wastegate actuator and honestly it feels like a completely different car.
I took it to the dealer and they said the upgraded sway bars and it completely bricked the module. In my experience, replacing the sensor completely resolves this issue.
