Hi everyone,

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some technical insight regarding my 2016 BMW F20 120d LCI (Italian specs). I’m currently dealing with a major condensation issue in my right headlight (Standard LED, Non-Adaptive), but it has also been accompanied by some strange electrical anomalies lately.

The Main Issue:
As you can see from the photos, the right headlight is full of water droplets. Interestingly, the LEDs have started to change color (shifting from the original white), which makes me think the LED boards or the light guides are dying.

The Electrical Anomalies:
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve experienced a series of intermittent failures:

Rear Parking Sensors (PDC) completely stopped responding.

Rear windows wouldn’t roll up or down.

Turn signals started fast blinking.

Dashboard warnings: "Battery not charging properly."

Current Situation:
I haven't seen these errors for about a week now. This coincides with a dry moment around here and the fact that I’ve been driving exclusively in ECO PRO to keep the battery charged. The battery is the original one from 2016 (nearly 10 years old!) and is currently at ~75% health.

OBD Diagnostics (Stored/History Codes):
I scanned the car and found several stored errors:

E58468: BODY-CAN Control Module Bus OFF.

D90D2F / D90D32: Headlight driver module (TMS) left/right: Missing LIN slave.

80320D/13/19/1F: Rear ultrasonic sensors not responding.

My Questions:

1) Linked Issues? Is it possible that the water in the headlight is shorting the LIN bus/CAN bus, causing the "Bus OFF" error and killing the PDC/windows? Or does this look like a classic "dying battery" scenario causing modules to crash?

2) Part Replacement: I found a used OEM headlight (housing only) with part number 63117414144. Is this the correct part for a 2016 LCI with standard LEDs?

3) LHD vs RHD: I’ve seen cheaper units from the UK (RHD). Can these be coded for LHD traffic, or is the internal beam pattern/reflector physically different?

4) Modules: Given the color change and the "Missing LIN slave" errors, should I buy a complete unit with modules, or is it likely just the housing that needs replacing?

5) Coding: If I replace the modules, do I need E-Sys for initialization, or can BimmerCode handle the "new" used modules?

6) Should I buy first the battery or the headlight?

I’d appreciate any advice before I start throwing money at parts. Thanks in advance!
