Strange choice to go around the track in DTC mode when you miss a limited slip differential. The fake LSD feature only works in DSC OFF mode.

YC63 FUM is actually the same Estoril M135i that was in Top Gear's studio last Sunday!

Hahah the one Clarkson couldn't drive and expected not to aquaplane pushing over 120mph with stability control off through massive amounts of water. Could have happened to any car going quick enough not to clear the water, but Clarkson blamed the car.

This guy needs some driving skills, he is not hitting any apex and is going in way to hot into the corners with both cars. Still i agree, i just got back from driving the M235i and it does need an lsd.

That is incorrect. It is always active. :RTFM:

In my manual it says it is only active in DSC Off Mode (although not very precisely written, so I guess it it possible to interpret it in other ways). I also get more inside wheel spin in Sport+ Mode than DSC Off. On icy days, it is easier to climb the incline outside our apartment in DSC Off than Sport+.

Good thing the M135i is superior to the much newer S3. The M235i should crush the S3 Sedan.
These new "M-Line" models are a good opportunity to put BMW back in the game in terms of sportiness, in which Audi is getting closer each new generation. Hopefully we'll see a M435i/M335i in a near future.

Interesting, although I haven't looked at the wording recently, I remember reading something as if the E-diff was active even in DSC off.

I checked the manual again now, and couldn't find it.
It is mentioned here:
F20 standard equipment

"Active Differential Brake (ADB-Sport) electronic differential lock in DSC-OFF mode"

I'm still amazed on how well BMW can manage power delivery with just the RWD.

I hope we'll see an M performance 3 and 4 series, it's been rumoured under consideration from previous Scott posts. I cannot understand why the most powerful 3 series doesn't have twin exhausts, maybe that is a clue there is another model coming. However I think a lot of stuff is being played down currently so as not to infringe upon the glory of the imminent M3 and M4... Why for example has BMW not released any 335d or 435d models for testing when previous 35d models have been raved about?

Any way if it comes out maybe Clarkson can show us how not to drive it.

So basically what he is saying is that the BMW is faster, more powerful, and more fun. He even calls the Audi "safe", no? Seems like a clear winner to me.

n55 sounds fantastic!

But this is not exactly a fair duel. I can't believe the 4 banger audi was only 1.1 seconds slower. I would have expected it to be slower than that, which in my book, means it's pretty darn good. But obviously it appears that the BMW was way more fun!

I think he was showing off for the cameras with a more drift oriented driving style. Efficient driving is more boring to watch, but I am pretty sure he can do that as well.

If true that's dumb

Tc off, i want tc off

In mine press DTC once and the e-diff kicks in without killing power

Hold down button and it's ALL off

I disagree. I want the e-diff enabled in DSC-Off mode. It has no disadvantages.
If I go to DTC mode, the power is killed rather quickly if I start sliding the car, but I can have a lot of wheelspin if I keep it straight.
