Yey - 125i M Sport has Arrived! ohhh - Factory has not installed my specified Harmon
My dealer has just rang me to say my car has arrived and you can pick it up Saturday, fantastic news!! Followed by the factory has not installed your Harmon Kardon sound system (the only option I am really looking forward to), not so fantastic and very disappointed to say the least. They have offered me 1K off the price to take as is. I said no you need to re-order what I specified which they are going to do. In the mean time they are going to let me drive around in the new car until my other new one arrives.
What do you think? Has anybody else has an issue such as this? |

That's an extremely generous dealership, down here they'd try and pin the mistake on the customer!!
You're right for not taking the £1k offer, the standard stereo really is quite poor How long do they think it'll take for your new one to arrive? Have they confirmed that you're still getting the 4.9% offer? |

Definitely their mistake, has the Harmon Kardon system on the build sheet. I can't believe they have not fitted it. At least I do get to drive the car though, I'm assuming nothing will change from my original order. This one has taken 9 weeks to so I assume another 9 weeks.

Yep, you're absolutely right to keep your leg stiff on this one! Fair of the dealer to let you drive the 'wrong' car in the mean time though!
This isn't really a mistake you expect when ordering a BMW though.. :s

Ever since the 3 started to outsell the Mondeo all those years ago the brand has slowly become less special... Yes they still make some truly epic driving machines but they are few and far between. Sad, sad, times chaps |

Very strange, especially since the HK was on the builf sheet. Initially I thought that the dealer forgot to add the HK to their order...but it seems that this is a factory mistake! Very good deal you stroke, since you get to drive a new car for as long as you wait yours!

That's very good of your dealer Harvv.
My local dealer in Crawley, west Sussex messed up my order and the car was delivered in the wrong colour! (white not estoril blue). They admitted it was their mistake. As much as I like white cars having just come from a white golf Gti I fancied a change and set my heart set on the estoril blue. So I rejected the car and asked for a loan car however they would not provide me with one. Was told they couldn't offer a car for the 3 months it would take to order a new one. Unimpressed by this I told them to poke their car and re-ordered from Coopers in Reigate Surrey. I got a much better deal on the car so all worked out well in the end.

F20MAX73 - can not believe they didn't even give you a loan car, your right would have told them to shove it! Well picked up the wrong car today it's fantastic to drive nearly done half a tank already! Very pleased with how the dealer has reacted, the right car should be arriving beginning of June!

Can understand the frustration when you have waited this long and you got the wrong item delivered. But appreciate the customer relation the dealer is maintaining. Hope you have negotiated with the dealer that you will be getting the same 4.9% interest which was there till March 2013. It was not your fault so that should be honoured and you wont loose any more money? from this month or Q2 the interest rate is 5.9% for the 1 series and mentioned above make sure you are not missing anything which you couldn't order earlier.

Totally bizarre! My family has had countless built to spec bm's over the years and the order has never been messed up.
When I ordered the car I sat with the sales lady and we built it on a bmw portal program, then the exact spec of the car gets printed and signed by both of us. I assume they'd send the order to the factory from within the program. If you look at the number of variations on the one series, there has to be a pretty high tech system at the factory to make it all work, this isn't some guy planning production for the day on the back of a box of smokes with a pencil! I can't believe an option just gets "forgotten"! |
