My F20 M Sport 116i AW with stripes

Hello Guys,

I'm from Turkey and new here.
Just got this beauty on 17th of August, and now sharing photos.
It's a pity they touched the ground with front bumper when they unloading from lorry to the dealer, as you can see some plastic is lost in the bottom field.
I was expecting a dead engine after my E90 320d but I found it very ambitious.
Just need xenon for now; but I think it's ok with halogens also.

So what do you think?

The stripes and black mirror caps look good on white cars.

Looks good. Not something I'd do myself though..
I voted xenons, BUT the cost of retrofitting these.. You should've ticked the option box of these.

Yes, you're right. But this one was ready when I decide to order an F20 M Sport. Only missing thing was xenon and I chose not to wait for 2 months. Now every single time I get on it, I think about xenons

I agree with GregD. The car would be nicer and better with Xenons, but it's not worth retrofitting.

Agree.. not worth the retrofit.
It's not that bad, and from some angles I think it looks even better without the xenons (less cross-eyed).
The only thing that's really not nice about the halogens is the DRL if you ask me.

There is no way I would accept delivery if my car was damaged this way. Don't think twice, give it back to them to replace the bumper, you have every right to do so.

Unfortunately there is no option on declining the delivery. One and only dealer in Turkey makes you sign an agreement about these kind of accidents during delivery process. It says "I accept this kind of damages if dealer repairs" as a summary. No signature, no sale. Yes, they're a...oles!
Another thing, for this F20, I paid €35K because of my country's tax policy. Bad luck? Definitely...

Btw, I called the dealer for replacement of xenons including front bumper (not for their mistake on unloading, for the headlamp washers :S) They said it will nearly cost €5K!

That explains justification of my decision in my own poll even the majority has chosen the going for xenons option.

One last thing; dealer says it's impossible to change headlights. When they enter the VIN, system denies.

Personally I think it's fine without the xenon lights as they have a bigger indicator lens/reflector so there's the potential for a greater area of orange to show.

Well, Xenon might make the car look even better (I love those angel eyes) but for 5,000 EURO, I can imagine a lot of better things to do with that cash.

For me it's still the ride itself, not so much how it looks. I haven't gone for more expensive coloring because Crimson Red is a lovely color as well and that cash is better spent in sport seats and lumbar support.. (then again I did have alloys just for the fact that non-alloys just don't do the car any good)

It kinda depends on where your priorities lie.. But for me, 5K EUR is way too much to spend on "better looking lights" which don't really do the ride itself any good or bad.. I'd spend 5K divided over one or two or three holidays driving around, that amount of cash is still a crapload of petrol to enjoy

By the way I know Xenon offer more than just "better looks" but that seems to be the consensus in this topic, just looks and not practicallity..

You should ask yourself, do I care about the looks that much or do I want to enjoy the ride?
And it's not like the car looks horrible with normal lights, it's still a beautiful F20

Now we're talking! I don't collect money from the street, so that's what I also agree about. Anyhow 5K offers more than headlights in every situation like you mentioned.

About sport seats, I already have I think, If we're not talking about Performance seats. Or am I wrong?

The stripes do work on white, as you have the other BMW performance items on it as well.

I'd would definitely prefer xenons. But having said that, this happened to me many years ago, when I got my C320 back in the day xenons was a new thing, and I didn't opt for it. 1 year into driving the car, I saw others with xenon... Originally I thought it was just the light (blue versus yellow and a little less bright). But after a while, it became a fashion statement for the vehicle. But even so, I didn't retrofit it onto my car. I waited for 4 years until it was time to get a new one, and got a car with xenons, and basically every car from then on had xenons, and I will probably not buy anything without (unless there is some new tech again).

Anyway, I understand your pain, but I managed to ignore it for 3 years, so you should be able to do so as well. Just keep that in mind next time you get a car.

Well, I get used to it I think. And here, none of my mates commented negatively about the front look. So for the next time I will wait until my own order comes; will not hurry to pick up the available one.
