so will they still come out with a 1 series 4-door sedan? that seems more appropriate to compete with the A3 sedan coming. 2GC sounds too "upscale"/expensive.

We would have liked to see the 1 series hatch with a 4 cylinder diesel come over here, even though it wouldn't be a huge seller. My wife wound up buying a 2013 A3 TDI, even though it is a glorified Golf and the last year of the old body style. There just isn't anything else like it on the US market. To my eyes, it looks better than the current 1 series hatch, but a if it came here equipped with one of their ED diesels and BMW build quality, the styling could be overlooked.

It seems like BMW would get their act together and make their 1-series and X1 better looking, as it costs just as much to make an ugly car as it does an attractive one.

I like the fact that in the rendering, it doesnt appear to have the F30 uni-brow........... I am curious to see what the coupe looks like

I'd love something e46 or e36 size. Prob is, cars nowadays need to be tall - which will make styling challenging. Im sure it will have the N20. N55 would be amazing though!

That's what this car is. But it will be called a 2-series Gran Coupe, to keep inline with the model designations of the 4-series and 6-series Gran Coupes.

i figured out something, bmw designed the car from the side. the sedan and the hatchback of F2x series are lovely from the side but fugly from front. we need cars with better fronts, not with better sides!
