BIMMERPOST NEWSF20 1-series BMW Performance Aero Kit and Stripes Spied Seen in these photos for the first time is what we believe is the F20 1-series with BMW Performance Aero Kit (front bumper, sideskirts, and rear bumper) with BMW Performance racing stripes. As with the prior 1-series, the BMW Performance program for the F20 will feature both cosmetic and performance parts, some of which may be revealed at the upcoming Frankfurt IAA show in September. Which clues indicate that the aero parts underneath the camouflage are BMW Performance parts and not merely M-sport parts? Foremost, the BMW Performance stripes are a pretty good indication. Also, BMW has already released images of the F20 M-sport model, so there's little need to camouflage M-sport parts. Compared to F20 M-sport photos below, this test car's front bumper is clearly a different shape and style. Lastly, this particular model also features special badging of some kind (covered by camouflage tape). The F20 M-sport does not feature any special badges. Am I the only one who thinks these headlights are just utterly massive? Either way, it'll be a popular car in the states, a great car to compete against Audi's A3, but if I had a choice between the two, I'd def. lean to the A3.

No amount of makeup will make this car look right from the front. It needs redesign of the front. It's not even bug-eyed cute like the first generation US WRX. It just looks bleh...proportions are wrong.

SCOTT, will we see a N20B20-powered 120i and 128i models come in Frankfurt too? Possibly for the 3 door model only to start, to set it apart from the 5 door?

They need to use the racing stripes to cover up those ugly headlights

I would rather take the bus than drive a car with such a stripe on it...whatever happened to subtllty?
But being the business major that I am I can understand that BMW wants to take as big a piece from the tuning cake as possible. So good luck with that. |

Exactly..^^ The striping for that car doesn't work, because NOTHING about that car's exterior DNA, speaks of handling, or performance. Yet racing stripe? The car looks foolish..
