The new BMW 1 Series

29.07.2011

The all-new, second generation BMW 1 Series occupies a distinctive niche within its
segment, offering a unique and rewarding combination of agile, precise handling,
improved aesthetics and innovative technology. It remains the only rear-wheel drive car
in its class and, with a range of advanced TwinPower petrol and diesel engines, offers a
sporty but fuel-efficient proposition boosted by BMW’s EfficientDynamics technologies
fitted as standard.

The previous generation BMW 1 Series has had enormous success selling more than
2.2 million units globally, as well as being the first car in the premium compact segment.
The elegant and dynamic styling of the new BMW 1 Series clothes a car that’s 83mm
longer, 14mm wider and 30mm longer in the wheelbase than its predecessor. These
dimensions create a car with increased cabin dimensions and, thus, greater interior
comfort.

The new BMW 1 Series goes on sale in the UK on 17 September 2011, with a choice
of three diesel and two petrol engines. Prices start at £19,375 otr for a BMW 116i ES.

Thats not correct, BMW have official told us the date.

The only problem here in Denmark PRICE 68.000 USD / 48.800 € for a base 116 i.
the 118i cost more than 78.000 USD / 56.000 € so no cheap car here.

Would like a 335i coupe but 157.000 USD no go...

Hate the tax on cars in Denmark.

+1.

That's just awful. Sorry. I admit I'm still clinging to the E30 years, and I have to evolve a little....but that front profile these days looks like a character out of Sponge Bob.

Guess I'll have to adjust.

Some of those prices are insane! I thought taxes were high in Canada but apparently not so much on cars.

My 2011 135i was $43,000CDN ($45US)
2011 M3 = $73,500US

MB Tex

I have to admit that the MB Tech simulated leather in my wife's C300 is just as nice as the Boston leather in my 2010 128i. I am seriously considering leatherette if I get a 1series next time.

Pirelli Winter Carver

I used Pirelli Winter Carvers last year with a square set up. Did great in md except for the noise on dry roads. Perf snow tire is probably best.

Leatherette holds up better over time than leather, especially if you get a sport package with the large bolsters (they tend to get cracked quickly), leave your car parked in the sun, or get in your car damp from swimming or jogging.

Lighter color leatherette has a STRONG plastic smell that fades over time. I've heard the black leatherette has a less strong plastic smell.

If you are only going to keep the car for a few years, you might go with leather. If you are keeping for a while, or getting a diesel where the engine is supposed to last forever, leatherette might be wiser...

Cheers!

Well,, those r expensive price tags BUTT,,Here r some of our BMW's price tags in Thailand>>>>> E90 318i is around 80000 USD >>>>> Based F10 520d goes around 120000 USD and both to r produce here in Thailand. And here r the imports>>>>> F10 535i goes around 250000 USD >>>>> E92 M3 costs almost 350000 USD here (All prices are official dealer's price tag).

I really really wonder now that Is there any place in the world that could b more expensive than this???!

BTW,,,, I like the new 1-series more when it is in black color like this.

Wow, that's even worse than in NL.
It also explains why in DK you see quite a lot of rather modest cars, even if DK is one of the richest countries in the world.
