125d will be the top 1er diesel. But once the F30 comes to the market , BMW will offer a 130d but this is about eighteen months away.
The F30 3er gets the Diesel 330d first before it is added to the 1er. Yes 135i will be introduced in the 3dr hatch but will also be available in 5dr format for the first time alongside the 3dr. When BMW were testing 135i prototypes - they used 3dr Hatches before the final Coupe bodyshell.

130d / 135i to be used in 3dr / 5dr / coupe / convertible equally?
since the f20s front overhang has clearly grown compared to its predecessor, i hope there is enough engine bay space to fit in straight-6 engines. |

Honestly, the design's growing on me. At least the sports version look better in the pics. I too think that BMWs always look better in reality. =D
Let's all come to accept how BMW's designing the baby 1. Hoping that the 2 series will appeal to more people in general. =)

Nothing new to say here, the interior looks great, a big improvement. The front end has way to much body around the grilles, the proportions are too equal, all wrong. I still wish the hatch was coming stateside, my 135 is my first DD that wasn't a hatch and do I miss the functionality.

I said even then it looked like Mitsubishi Tryton from the front. It's a POS. |

hi everyone. I'm one of the people, who don't really understand the hate, that the new 1series' exterior gets. But have to agree it needs time to get common with. However I see a lot of potential in this car, and that made me to photoshop a little. Made easy modifications - lowering, wheels, etc. - and maybe that helps haters to see: this car is not that bad.

At first glance I thought the front end looked hideous, but I think it'll grow on me in due time.
It does look much better in video than pictures so hopefully it'll look much better in person. ![]() ![]() ![]()

seriously, the original 1er was far from perfect at launch; it looked dated since day one. Launched in year 2004, it had the look of the early e46 pre-facelift models back in around year 2000. But at least it looked proper.
Now... this 2nd gen 1er... it looks outright WEIRD, thanks to the oversized headlight assembly. I am sure it drives better than the 1er being replaced and it will be more high tech and everything, but the look can't be an improvement. damn the 1M suddenly looks so damn good. |

Whoa...was that a VW GTI? naww, GTI has a more integrated look in the front, and sharper looking intake grilles above and below.
Headlights look cross-eyed. Too much gap between grilles and lights make it not look integrated with the body, and that's the biggest issue. Grilles are floating with no relation to headlights, which make it look....cheap.... On looks alone, I'll take the Audi or VW hatchbacks... better yet, I'll settle for that other brand that VW owns besides Audi....Porsche, yeah....

I have to say, I like it. I was a little unsure at first, but the more I look at it and after the video posted. I think it looks modern and will be a hot little hatch. I have total faith in BMW.
