Too bad we don't get this in America...I love hot hatches, and this would provide me more utility than my 135...

I'd be all over a 1 series hatchback too if they were brought over to the states. I saw a few when on my last ED in 08 and thought they looked great.

1 origin, 2 originals means the new model will be designated as a 2 series. Is that right?

Are they talking about a 3 doors vs. a 5 doors ? Or are they refering to a diesel vs. a gas version ?

Actually, I believe they are referring to a more dynamic model with sporting intentions vs. a luxurious, elegant, more plush model. I forgot where I read this - it was one of the bigger media outlets. In other words, they are emphasizing how a single car can have a dual character.
