We bring you the first photos of the upcoming 2012 1-series hatch (F20) 135i revealing its grille and front bumper design (also an M-sport bumper). Judging by the front bumper design, dual split exhaust, uprated wheel/tire combo, and large brakes, this is likely the 135i model, powered by the N55 6-cylinder turbo motor. An examination of the front bumper reveals a similar design to the current 135i's, which happens to also be the 1-series M-sport bumper, with its aggressive twin splitters.

According to our BMW longterm roadmap, we expect the next generation F20 1-series to make its public debut at the 2011 Frankfurt IAA motorshow in September 2011.

Damn, you can already see the F10 style hood lines through the camo. I hate the dip in the middle. It looks odd.

1) Mmmm no LED DRL?
2) They should be the hatch to the states, especially in AWD variant with turbo 4 power plant. I know BMW and Subaru aren't direct competitors but it can be the entry model to turn STI buyers to BMW converts.
3) This is an early prototype under camo. The original E82 coupe proto was as heinous looking as this

The hatch was the first to come out and I don't think you knew there is a hatch in the current generation. We just don't have them in the US. Anyway the new generation is following the same path.

Also hatch>coupe any day.

Of course it's RWD, but it might not come to the US.

You should get rid of the camo tape over the side mirrors.

...looks like the beveled grille design like the 6-series Grand-Coupe and coupe will be a new trademark look for the kidneys now...

..interesting way to cary a character line across the front of hte car.. perhaos a way to hide the EEU imposed front end height standards.. it works on the 6ers!
