Offset and tire clearance

We are running 205/50-17 on 8x17et35 wheels. That fits without rubbing.
I will install some BBS RX 8x17et38 wheels, and I am considering 225/45-17 tires this time. Will that fit as well?

I have noticed that the stock 225-fitments are running with et43, so this will bring the tires 5 mm closer to the wheel arches.

I think it will fit, but it would be nice if somebody else has some experience and can confirm it.

No, the stock wheels with 225-tires are et43. I will be running et38.

Kinda bumping the thread here..

I'm running 19x8.5 ET40 in front (225-35) and 19x9.5ET45 in the rear (255-30). It also all depends on the type of tyre you're running. Some are less high or less wide than others.
I have Falken FK-453's who are known to be a smaller tyre, as the sidewalls don't really go straight up as with e.g. a Michelin PS

Oh yeah, I'm all around under high load. and I have KW V1 lowering (about -5cm)

Hi guys!
I have a set of 17" 157 style wheels with et34 and 225/45/17 RS3 hankooks. On the road it seems to be no problem with the clearence. But on a track, sidewalls were rubbing the wheel arches. Now I'm running et40 wheels with 235/45/17 and it seems pretty good. By the way i have m sport suspension. Both wheels are 8 inch wide.

Hi all, I really need help here.
I'm buying a F20 118i(non M sport kit), and will come with 16" and ET40 wheels.
I want to put Beyern Multi 18" wheels, but I'm not sure if the fitment is possible:

Front: 18X8.5 ET40 with 225/40-18 or 235/40-18
Rear: 18X9.5 ET45 with 255/35-18

Few questions:

1- In the front 225 tires with 8.5 inch will look stretched? I don't like stretched look, but I´ve afraid that 235 will rubbing.

2- In the rear is worst, 9.5 I think is too much and with 255 will rubbing inside or outside? Remembering the offset is high, ET45.
I can buy for rear the same as the front, 8.5 width, but I prefer staggered, my actual E81 have M Sport kit and factory staggered wheels.

What do you think about this unusual set fitment?
I´m from Brazil and I need to import from US this wheels, if eventually didn't fit, I couldn't change it.
Other information, I will not lower the car.

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Fabio

I have 225/45-17 (Michelin Pilot Sport 3) on 8" BBS wheels, and they look slightly stretched.

A little stretched is not a problem, the real problem to tell the truth is the ET40, I have doubt that fits, and the 9.5 inch rear wheels with ET45 too.
Making a research today, I found a store in UK that sells Beyern:

http://www.rimstyle.com/alloywheels/...ulti&year=2013

I made this because in Europe sites have F20 beyond the cars application, in US doesn't exist.
For this site, when we select a F20 and 18 staggered set that I looking for, they send together a 3mm spacer for rear wheels to better fit, maybe my doubt was answered here, if the site was right, I need a pair of 3mm spacers too.

Thank you, if somebody knows something more about this set and could help I will appreciate very much, is hard to find informations about the wheel fitment in F20.

I recommend looking at the wheel sets directly from BMW, what offset they have.
You find them in the online ETK:

So, this is the problem....lol
Original size and offset are:

Front: 18 X 7.5 ET45
Rear: 18 X 8 ET54

Pretty different I think.

Looking for some help. Brought some wheels for winter and didn’t check the ET (my bad), so have a staggered set of Fronts 7.5Jx18 ET49 & backs 8.5Jx18 ET52 and putting ContiWinterContact TS 830 P 225/40R18 92 V RUN ON FLAT Tyres on them. I believe the backs are OK.
Anyone know if the fronts will fit and/or damage anything?

If the wheels get too close to the front struts, you could add 10 mm hub-centric spacers.

I'm also trying to get the best fit wheels, found a very useful link where all the variables can be seen in a graphical way.
