Clicking accelerator pedal

Yesterday my car seems to have develop a 'plastic' sound click every time I step on the accelerator pedal.

It's not loud and if I move my foot around (stepping on the pedal on different places), it will disappear for a while... and comes back again.

It was starting to annoy me yesterday as I was stuck in traffic and I keep hearing 'click', 'click', 'click'!

Have this happened to anyone?

Sounds like the same thing that can affect the brake pedal, the pivot bush goes a little oval and rotates when the pedal is pressed so sometimes it clicks and others it's fine. Some people have had the pedal box replaced but it makes no difference, a modified bush is probably needed.

Good luck with that, chances are you will get it clicking and when they check, it will have rotated again. May need some repeated pedal action to get it to present itself.

sorry to resurrect an old thread but did you ever get this resolved? My f30 has started with exactly the same noises coming from the accelerator pedal but the dealers dont seem to be able to catch it when its doing it .

It seems to be temperature related.

Let me know, kind regards
