I am looking to get a F20, 116d as it is the version that I can afford comfortably for the daily commute of 15km of town driving I do every day. I do the occasional weekend trip of over 100km, mostly on main roads, not very often on motorways.

Will the 116d SE be a good enough car for my daily drive and provide enough punch for overtaking should I need it? I understand the 118d would probably be better in all aspects, but I am not sure whether for my needs the extra purchasing cost is justified.

For those who have owned or own a 116d SE, is it fast enough?

i own a 114d and its wonderful.....it is a good enough car for a "daily drive" but you have to plan ahead when it comes to overtaking

I've got a 116d F20, and it's just fine for power. Mind you, nothing mind blowing, but I have no problem overtaking other cars or hitting 200 km/h on the Autobahn. Not to mention my insurance is affordable and the car is extremely efficient.
