How To Take Advantaje Of The Infotainment In A F21

Hi, as I mentioned 2 months ago, I am a happy owner of a 2014 F21 118i steptronic. My car doesn´t have navigation (it doesn´t have the wide screen either). I am having trouble communicating mi iphone 4s with the car. I connect it via the white stripe of the iphone in the usb port of the central and launch on the iphone de BMW Connected app. It doesn´t connect. I make the connection diagnosis and I get no answer (no connection).

Do you know how can I make this work? Is really the bmw connected app useful? I can see my twitter and FB account in the screen without having the navigation version?

Thanks a lot for your comments!

Not sure but I believe you need the correct "Y" cable are you using this?

Hi! Yes i´m using the original USB cable that comes with the Iphone 4S, not I´m not using the Y cable... where do I buy this cable and what´s the difference with the standard apple cable?
This week I configured my car to play music via bluetooth (that´s nice) but I have no illustration of the disc in the screen.

So, what are the real advantaje that i will get if I buy the Y cable... what featres I could get?

If you use bluetooth, the album cover is not available, only by usb connection

you dont need the Y cable, that was for the earlier models, but if you wanna try it, you can get it at your bmw dealer, for about 100 usd

but as i told you there's no need to do that, since my iphone 4s and my 2014 f20 worked just about great!!! you should try with another iphone, or take it to the dealer to have them check

im now using a iphone 5c through usb and work flawlessly with itunes app and spotify!

Im at guadalajara, so if you are here too, maybe we can met, and see what's "wrong" with your car!
