seriously though, I think you were off base telling her to figure out her own finances. Does she earn a good wage and living?

Part of the dance for a female is to see whether the man is willing to share his wealth, it's the concept that he'll take care of her and her children...unless of course she started the relationship solely based on gold digging.

Yeah, but I found my answer already. I just run and hide when ever I see ovaries from now on.

It was just funny in a way. The perfect man (except the faults listed) was to pay for her trip, and when she didn't want to stay with him, he was to pay for a hotel too.


Her getting mad at me for saying why should he pay for any of it, and why on earth is any of that fair to him for her mad enough that I doubt I'll have an other boring lunch ahead.

Just get some backbone men, 52% of worlds population is women so you should find someone nice.

I have no problem of people sharing their wealth, in a relationship it is normal. My problem was how upset she was for the notion of this being an option.

Her finances are solid. If I understood correctly his are not so much. She is extremely funny and caring but I think this whole thing shows once again how easily i get confused over cultural differences. Based on answers here next dinner we go, I might even make the spouse bring his wallet and leave mine home.

One of the things I always looked for was whether she would offer to pay for something on the first date. Otherwise I knew I was in for a lot of expectations and one-way promises. While this isn't her first date per se I think the same concept applies.
