They way I see it, it's my car. I should be able to control all chassis settings with DCS on or off.
I am not keen on the nannying that BMW have put in place here.
I agree with that. But having gotten used to the Comfort engine mapping, I kind of like it. You have full power available, but a different pedal mapping than the Sport setting. Sport feels like full power at half pedal. It feels faster at first, but I think you have more control of part throttle in Comfort mode.

I would eventually select Comfort mapping even for track use.

Hi Guys,

I received it last week. Very happy about it, the Entertainment System is blazing fast. However, I do have a couple of questions:
1) How to do set Eco Pro mode as default when starting the engine?
2) How do I check whether the M Sports Suspension is there? (not that I don't trust the dealer but...I want to see it)
3) Is it possible to turn traction control off by default?

thanks,

Hi
I'm in the process of getting an F20 125i.
I recently tested one with the adaptive suspension.

From what I was told you can only control the suspension by changing from Eco-pro to Comfort to sport or sport+ but this also adjsusts the automatic gearbox settings.
Is it possible to have the gearbox in sport but the adaptive dampers in comfort - this would by nice on the regular commute to keep the throttle and gearbox response high, but soften the ride on our crap sydney roads.
Thanks

Short answer: you can always put the transmission into Sport by pushing the shift lever to the left. But you will not get the accompanying throttle response in Comfort, that is set in Sport, Sport+

I've always thought it is strange you can set the car up to have Sport suspension and steering response with Comfort throttle/transmission setting, but not the reverse. However, this is nothing more than a mind game --- in practice, you'll find this won't matter to you too much at all.

Maybe BMW thinks Comfort is the more sporty throttle mapping, and that the Sport mapping is a little bit over the top (full throttle at half pedal)? After all, they force you to use Comfort mapping if you switch DSC completely off.

When the car was new, I liked Sport throttle mapping, but I have growned to prefer Comfort mapping, and I don't use Eco Pro or Sport at all anymore.

Thanks. It's a shame they don't allow separate control of throttle, dampers and gearbox. A fovorites setting would be nice. i think the current GTI offers this. if only it was RWD

I like M-suspension, although it's still way to high in its wheel arches. I'd never found it uncomfortable, and especially not when you compare it to the old generation of BMW.

Is your car an AT or MT? I use Sport 99% of the time with a 6MT and love the throttle mapping.
