Hello everyone! I’ve been hovering around the forum for quite a while and finally I’ve put in my order for an F20 M135i. A little bit about myself, I’m a mechanical engineer living in Saudi Arabia and I’m from Lebanon. I absolutely love cars and it took me a good 5-6 months before I decided on the M135i. I went from 370Z to Scirocco R to C250 coupe to 135i coupe and finally decided on the M135i. So a big HOT hello to everyone on the forum and warm thanks for helping me decide on the car!

I believe it is common to say the specs of the car, so here’s what I ordered:

My dealer says the car should be ready in a couple of months, but I'm not too buzzed by the wait time because I've got a lot to keep me busy till then! Other cool facts: This will be the first M135i in Jeddah and they're going to launch the model with my car, which means it'll spend some time in the showroom

I have to give a special thanks to both AusF20 and Zj for their priceless contributions to a previous post of mine, alas, I tried my best to get the F21 but it just didn't work out and I'm content on the F20 guys.

I'll revive the post when the car arrives


Update

Finally, the car has arrived! I have been waiting seven months for this baby to arrive and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it in front of me.

I've taken some quick photos for you to see, I have yet to see photos of the same colour combo. Many people won't like it, but I'm ecstatic about it and it looks gorgeous. I got it tinted since these photos were taken and hopefully pick this Thursday

Just heard from my dealer, I will be getting my F20 EB in a few days time

I plan to be in RSA again around Feb 2013, so I might get to see yours in the Jedda showroom or getting around the streets

Thanks mate! I first thought the wait wouldn't bug me, but it's beginning to get to me and it's only been a couple of days!

So, after hearing and seeing lots of people receive their M135i's (big congrats btw ), I got a blow from the dealer telling me that they could not get apply for production in November, December or January. The soonest would be in February or March.

I opted to go for March since I'd get the new iDrive system. That means my car will probably arrive end of April 2013 as a 2014 model.

I think I earned the longest wait on the forum, I put in the downpayment on 24th September => if I do manage to get the car in April, that's a 7 month wait. *sigh*

You are not alone mate

I placed deposit in Oct, seems the earliest I can get mine will be Mar/13 or even April or May (I don't think dealer in Hong Kong would be able to fight for production quota)

Haha good luck to you too! The only plus that I can make out of it is the new iDrive system, which is worth the wait IMO.

Hello everyone! Just thought I'd update all those who remember this post that I've finally gotten a production date! Week beginning March 11. I'm ecstatic, after 5 months, I was starting to feel like it was never going to happen anymore.

Congrats on the car. This is my first post def more to come. Like you I had a hard time picking the m135i as my next car. I currently own a abt scirocco. Oh one more thing it will be the first one in Lebanon but here it only comes with x drive, and a 2 month waiting period and as you know a massively high price tag due
to taxes etc etc. Just wanted to tell you congrats Allah yib3ad el darbet hahaha

How much is it costing you there? It's bloody expensive here relative to Saudi (around $60K), in leb I'm assuming its goin to be 80-90!?

Damn 7 months that's a long time. You must have nerves of steel haha. In Saudi is it 60k with all the options cause here it's 85 starting till like 105k but that's without registration or insurance (each being 5k as well). I went for some minor options: xenon, sunroof, Harmon kardon, foldable door mirrors, Bluetooth, sun glazing pack, automatic ac etc for 89k . Navigation is around 3500€ and doesnt work at all. I think 60k is quite good for a fully loaded m135i, it's as much as a stock golf r lol. Are you planning on getting any m performance parts? Cause they are also bloody expensive, if I recall the carbon fiber/alcantara trim is around 1800$.

Yeah, the price 60K is for the options I listed above, almost all minus the heated seats (don't need them here!) and the speed limit detection (I doubt it'll read Arabic numbers haha).

Still waiting! If you get yours we'll be receiving them in the same month I believe (April)

Performance parts.... I've given it thought and I don't think I'll buy them. They're only cosmetic and on the long run I'll get bored of the toys.

Oh and FYI, fully loaded Golf R here is less than 50K. My brother has one
