Cool Real life average fuel consumption

Hi All,

I know there are hundreds of threads about fuel consumption etc...
I'm interested to know what is everyone's average fuel consumption to this day?

Have a look in your cars now and please let me know, l/100km or MPG I don't mind. Also can you specify what cars you drive I'm specifically interested in 1 & 3 series BMW's.

Even post pics if you'd like

That's pretty efficient for track driving! I can't believe how everyone has such great fuel efficiency. What are your driving habits on the road? Comfort/Sport/EcoPro and Highway/City...

I drive in Comfort mode almost all the time with rather low RPM and low average speed. Mostly non urban driving, and I try to avoid using the brakes if possible. My best consumption is around 5 L/100 km.

At track driving I use high RPM in DSC Off mode, and get around 20 L/100 km.

Diesel engines usually attain that sort of MPG

The 116d has official combined of 62.8

I have beaten that on my (mainly) motorway commute home when the traffic is light:

116dA

116dA, 59000kms, total average 5.7, mostly in highway traffic with cruise control set to 150km/h.

I'm quite happy with this number, because the other cars i had before needed more fuel: focus 1.6tdci = 6.5, mondeo 2.0tdci = 6.8, lexus is250 = 8.9

Minimum reached on short distance 3.5 (300kms@90km/h)
Maximum reached (night transfer over germany) 7.5

Wow, For a M135i I would've expected the fuel efficiency to be a lot worse.

I'm usually going empty (just driver) for long distance + long gears on 8 speed auto makes a lot. If i compare 5 speed manual in focus and 8 speed auto in f20, there is about 800 revs difference at 140km/h.
