This car is featured in the latest Roundel Magazine. This is the proper way to do a "resto-mod".

My brother had a 2002 back in the 70's. When I drove it I knew I would own a BMW someday. In 1988 I bought my first one, a HP-deprived 528e but a blast to drive with the 5 speed MT. I've been hooked ever since thanks to the 2002 getting my heart racing in the right direction.

Same here.

My brother had a 1975 2002, Fjord Blue... I thought it was an odd car for him to buy, but after riding in it and taking a drive, I was hooked.

I had a 1968 2002. Lifted its inside rear wheel in turns like a dog peeing on a hydrant.

Instead of all the "futuristic" concepts that BMW is obsessed with, BMW needs to build a modern version of the 2002. Modern tech, classic looks.

They already have, it's the previous 1 series and current 2 series. That's what BMW will say is their modern interpretation of the 2002.

It was a 1974 BMW 2002 that was owned by the mother of two of my classmates that made me fall in love with the brand. It was 1985 and I'd just started high school. Every morning she would drive in to drop them off, obviously late for work, and would speed off full revs, tires chirped. It was a five-speed manual, gray and with the round tail lamps and super clean. I used to be in the parking lot every every day for over a year just to watch and listen to her come and go. I will own one of these resto-modded versions one day God willing.

I has 2 of these in the past a round tail light 1972 and a square tail light 1974. Preferred the lines of the 1972 with the smaller bumpers.

Interesting that they put the pre 1974 bumpers on the 1974 model makes it look better.

Five-speed tranny?

It must've been a replacement at some time, because I thought they all had four-speed boxes...

Sound system does not work style wise imho.

The Sound system isn't classy like the car. Trunk is all Boom Boxy. Not something I'd choose. I would have hidden the sound performance though an an antiquated interface in the cabin and covered any needed base behind material( simple to remedy) in the trunk. To each there own. Car looks good.
