Navigation night mode

In my May 2012 F20 i had an option to switch the nav to night mode (or auto).

In my December 2013 F20 this option is missing.

What happened?

I have a Nov 2013 F20 with business nav and it has the auto and night mode. I put it on Auto. Maybe the software update?

I am not certain, that was just a guess. Might worth checking
Do you have Business or Professional system?

Ah ok. I have professional nav. Same as my last car

No idea how to switch in i-Drive. I just use voice command..."Night map mode"..."day map mode"

If you move the idrive to the left when nav is displayed it shows a list of items which one is the night/day mode. At least that's in the business unit

The spoken instruction works! It recognises "automatic map mode" too but doesn't actually change anything when headlights are set on or off

Strange how I cant find any setting in iDrive anywhere?

it is not connected with the headlights.. in the cluster is a Light diode and this is switching the nav in night/ day mode

Just been out to the car and started it and it went into night mode automatically

no idea why the option is missing but the voice command has activated it anyway so im happy.
