Possible e90 M3 trade

Hi guys,

Need some inputs on a possible trade from M135i to used E90 11' M3

Honestly i never tested the M3, its not that im not satisfied with the M135 performance. Im in need for a bigger 4 door.

Will it be worth it? I still need to put 40K USD for this deal, brand new M135i is 100K and M3 is 150K USD here.

What u guys think?

The running costs will be significantly higher with the M3, and it is a rather different driving experience. The car is more brutal and direct in the way it behaves and sounds.

If I was in a position to have the M3 then I would go for it.

Just do it, it's a great car.

There are some major differences between an M3 and an M135i that you need to be aware of.

1 Running costs....the M3 gobbles fuel, literally
2. Servicing, insurance and tyres are a lot more expensive with an M3
3. Turbo vs. N/A......the M135i has instant power from very low revs and a superfast gearbox that hooks up instantly, so all the power is pretty much available all the time. The M3 needs to be worked and revved....you've got to drive an M3 hard to enjoy its maximum performance
4 Handling.....good as an M135i is, an M3 is a lot better. If you have mountain or twisting country roads that you drive regularly and quickly, the M135i is great but the M3 is a dream compared to 'regular' cars.

So, if most or a lot of your driving is on 'special' roads that allow you to drive in a 'spirited' way, an M3 will be the most rewarding. If on the other hand its mainly highways and city driving, the M3 will feel quite a bit slower than the M135i as all the performance is hidden away above 5000rpm.

The M3 is an amazing car but it needs to be driven quite hard to appreciate its qualities. The M135i is more of an everyday car, with mega-performance available at the touch of the gas pedal.

I'm on the look out for a decent used M3 E90 and would trade for the right one in a heartbeat.

Totally different experience and if you can afford it, go for it.

If you have something else as a daily car, then very much yes....

M3 is very special, I only drove the E46 for a bit and the E90 for 10 minutes....

I wish I can own one~

I have had both as a daily drive. I very much agree with Steve.

Still have the F20 M135i now and much prefer it over the E90 M3 for daily driving (highway and city).
