Rain stopped a while ago, just light winds. I'm about to run to McD's for some shakes and maybe a Big Mac lol. About to call up my job's hotline to see if we're expected to be at work tomorrow. I'm more worried about PBC and north.

Melbourne fl..... most everyone beachside A1A, lost power..... Merritt island was hit /miss on power outages.....mainland in really good shape.

The storm track was a bit further out than was forecast yesterday, so that's a good thing. Seems most of the mainland so far just got a nasty, windy rain storm. Let's hope the storm stays out a ways.

Fear Mongering at it's best.

While it's good to be prepared I feel it caused a lot of unnecessary panic. Family from out of the area were asking why we weren't evacuating because they saw on the news the FL, NC, GA was evacuating. No one bothered to clear up that it was mostly only those in the flood zones along the coast that was evacuating. Perhaps that was the only reason people actually reacted, I guess if they didn't exaggerate no one would have prepared as much as they did. But then again it is my first Hurricane so what do I know. I had plenty of food, all i needed to do was buy some extra water and add gas to my car.

I did agree with all the Hurricane Warning being issued in all the Counties that got it. Schools got closed and some business reacted well.

I think the retail stores made out like bandits, people were panicking and bought up everything in sight. Profits should definitely be up this month.

I wonder how many people will try to return generators this weekend.

All that happened for me was a small leaf on both the 335i and the CTS. That was all.

It's sad that so much of Florida is without power today. Even over on the west coast. It's the 21st century, for Pete's sake. Why can't we build power systems that can survive a little wind?
