I pre-ordered the Nexus 6p and when it arrived I saw the manufacture "Huawei" and put the lid back on the box and sent it right back to them.

I didn't bother researching the Pixel after that. Who really makes it?

Can't really call something an iPhone killer because it caters to different ecosystem.

That said, specs look nice. Software and features looks interesting. Looks kinda weird, but that might just be me. It's made by HTC. Never really heard anything too bad about their phones.

Still think Samsung makes the superior hardware, regarding android devices.

Not an iPhone killer because Apple has a cadre of devoted users who simply don't have any idea about the kinds of innovation in the mobile/tablet/wearable space that are out there and have no interest in finding out.

Can't seem to find an answer on this but does the Pixel XL have a build in amp and DAC like HTC 10 or upcoming V20?

I've noticed that. I think some of them see it as a status symbol.

I've been using HTC phones since the days where Windows phones were still a thing (Circa 2009). I keep going back to them because their build quality has always been head and shoulders above the Android competition. Their custom skinning (HTC Sense), imo, has always been awesome.

Their build quality has always been great. I just feel like they lack in other departments, like camera and battery.

Totally agree with you on the camera. Battery life on my HTC 10 seems pretty good. At least a lot better than my One M8.

Apple is a name the phone is crap. I will never go back to apple. Got the new Samsung and i am not looking back. Plus apple is almost 50% made of samsung and some other Chinese companies. So its not apple its crap mixed with so many other companies. Jest like jaguar or volvo.

Let's see how the Pixel's camera holds up. The large sensor should help.

Sure sells well for such a "crap" device. Great you like your Samsung, but a lot of people don't like those!

You're forgetting the main feature of an iPhone which is the software, which I can guarantee you is made by Apple

Do you really think the components in your Samsung are all made by Samsung?

Huawei is a very high end phone maker in China by the way. And the Nexus showed it. They haven't quite broken into North America yet.

No.

It's the software and user experience. It will always be the software.

If I could list the things I miss about my Nexus 6P (Currently on 6s Plus):

-Quick charging
-Better notification system
-Native Gmail
-Camera (much better than 6S Plus for stills. Especially in low light)
-Better multitasking
-Being able to organize app icons how I want
-Google Now
-Button placement

Neither is better than the other overall. It's all personal preference.

Well Google doesn't have a semiconductor fab so what do you expect them to do? Apple also outsources the manufacture of their phones...

They are not banned in the USA, I have a few Huawei products, and they are very well made. The Chinese might very well be spying on me, but so are the American companies, so what's the difference?

It will be a flame decor and the new killer feature will be built in fire suppression.

From a consumer market standpoint, Huawei is not banned. From the standpoint of the US Federal Government. You betcha. As are all companies with Chinese ownership such as Lenovo. Even in the consumer market, the Feds exercised their "influence" on some companies to not buy any Huawei products. This happened to Sprint when they were about to buy Huawei products to upgrade their telecom infrastructure. The Feds stepped in and "strongly" encouraged Sprint to reconsider their choice. Sprint dropped Huawei.

The US Federal Government isn't the only government with that point of view. The Aussies have also banned Huawei from being used in any important infrastructure projects.

Me personally, I wouldn't own any Huawei products. Yes, some US companies have been caught spying on consumers using their products. But I don't recall any of those companies where the guy in charge used to be a "former" Intelligence officer.
