I think the funniest take-away from the auction was when Floyd Mayweather's Bugatti didn't hit the reserve and he left all pouty. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

What a 458 looks like under the tacked on liberty walk kit. Paying a premium for a hacked up Ferrari is just stupid.

Way too many assumptions.

Depends on the car. Rowan Atkinson sold his McLaren F1, which he racked up 41,000 miles on and crashed twice, for $12M. Presumably for the exact same reason this car went for a premium: famous owner + notorious car = premium.

F1's go back to mclaren for repairs and there was some litigation with the insurance company for the better then new repairs - I think that's what I read.

His F1 wasn't sent to West Coast Customs, to have the fenders saw-zawed and non-original McLarens parts riveted over it.

The F1 was sent directly to McLaren after the wreck, who rebuilt the car for over $1,000,000+ in repairs. So essentially the new owner got a fully restored factory certified McLaren F1.

Goodings has said $10mill+ is now the going rate for McLaren F1's. Last year one sold at RM Sotheby's Monterey auction for $13.75 million, with no famous ownership.

Still assuming. Just cause you wouldnt pay for it doesn't necessarily mean no one else will.

I picture owning Bieber's previous car and being at a Cars and Coffee and telling people about it and trying not to laugh. Sure wouldn't pay a premium for it.

I wouldn't pay that for this, and I'm not a big fan of the LBW stuff, but compared to most of their other builds, this is one of the better ones I've seen.

Oh it was one of their charity auctions. That explains the high price. Barret Jackson now has a separate category for charity auctions, because they inflate values.

I dont agree with blaming the parents for the dumb things their teens do.

I think I have amazing parents and I think they did a very good job at raising me and my brother. I made a couple dumb choices in my early 20s.. nothing to crazy but if I was as famous as Bieber, it would have been on the news lol. I would never in a million years blame my parents for my choices.
Of course there are exceptions to every type of statement. But if you poll social workers, psychologists, etc, they would all say having a strong parental environment would produce greater odds the kid is going to grow up "normal". Kids always want to test boundaries and if parents are not around to set those boundaries, the kid is going to think they can get away with anything.

As a parent, do you want a "normal kid" or one worth $200 million? I say they did a damn good job raising him. Being a dlck is part of the allure. Keeps you interesting. He aint an Osmond.

Beiber is a docuhe, stuck up brat. He has total disregard to his fans and only does any "good" when he gets headlines for doing something bad.

He is the way he is because people treat him like he is a God. He is a regular person that has a talent in performing musical numbers. Honestly, there are many other people that have more talent than him. He was marketed well by whatever company and now his fame is what people go for rather than his talent.

He'll always be a douche and nothing will change that.

A normal kid. Not sure if you're a parent but some parents wouldn't sacrifice the well being of their kids for all the money in the world. In my case, I have an even more slanted look at my only child. The fact she was born without any birth defects to me is a blessing being that I went through chemo therapy where there hasn't been any significant studies on the genetic affects on reproduction.

I am a parent. You're really romanticizing parenthood. There is nothing abnormal about Bieber. To be so young and have already conquered the world, so to speak, trumps the trivial behavioral issues we've witnessed. He'll grow out if it. Or he won't. No different than your children. I think people just have a disdain for rich celebs so they substantiate their own, predictable, boring way of living life and raising kids. Prisons are full of adults who grew up " normal". And?
