Tailgate opening button

I am 116d Sport owner and I've got a question.

Is there a tailgate opening button under footwell?
I read the manual P35 and it said there is a button inside.
But I can't find it in my car!!

I've not found one, no..

Coming to think about it the button on the fob doesn't open the boot either!

It's right next to the OBD port, close to the door seals. From your light switches, look down.

Hold it in for 1sec, it's not immediate like the primary unlock button.

Tried that and it still does nothing, even if the car is unlocked.

One thing odd that I've noticed is that you can pull and partly open the boot when the car is locked... Odd!

It sounds like someone has accidently moved the door latch in the semi open position. That isolates the solinoid
Open the boot hatch and move the latch into the fully unlocked positon and then into the locked position, then push the release button. That should reset it

I don't have a boot release switch? Just a blank above the OBD Port? But I can use the door lock button in middle of dash to unlock boot

It appears that the different specs have difference locations for the release.
Odd, you would think it would be in the same location on all versions.

When I press the boot release button on the fob it unlocks all the doors and folds out the mirrors. Same as the primary unlock button except you have to press it for a second.
