As to the other, that's the usual scenario in CANBERRA...this will change with a new govt, I'm told

Nobody would say it's acceptable. And I've seen the video. But it's lawful in australia to use a mobile phone while it's mounted in a purpose built holder. I've got mine at eye level in the centre of the dash, but if I'm honest, it's still distracting.

For this reason, I'm hopeful that the centre console will have a compatible bracket for my phone where I can connect up and bury the phone and forget about it.

I'm not here to advance an argument in favour of texting and driving.
