New Xenon Package

Just having a look at the new car configuration tool on the BMW UK site. Its pretty great!

However, i'm annoyed to learn they now offer Xenon lights for £590, without having to take the visibility package

They changed a few options in Jan 13 i.e standalone xenons, dab as standard. They also changed one other package although can't remember for the life of me what it is but it saves us around £600 not having the complete package so we added to m sport brakes instead :-)

I guess it all has to do with marketing and sepcific markets. For example in Greece, stand-alone Xenons were offered from day one. From what I understand, each country had its own packages, designed by the importer (i.e. BMW UK, BMW Hellas etc.).

I did the same and ordered the xenons and the m sport brakes, then added the vis pack to the spec later. I would not have got the m sport brakes if I had opted originally for the vis pack. So glad I opted for the m sport brakes

There probably one of the biggest bargains on the options list IMO really pleased I ordered the bad boy brakes :-) hopefully they'll last the 36 months we keep the car as I can't imagine the disks are cheap to replace.

Why would you replace brake disks and not the brake pads?
I don't belive they can resist so much, only if you're going more often with the bus than with your car

I'm not replacing anything I'm just saying I can't imagine the big disks would be cheap to replace when the time comes!

Just checked out the UK site.

In South Africa the options are presented very differently!

Check this out:

For anybody interested in doing the math on any options £1 = R14.16

Can someone in the UK with the £590 Xenon option and who doesn't have the Adaptive Light package send me the last 7 digits of their VIN number?

This is so I can compare my car to theirs and see what's really needed for a retrofit?
