Two weeks after c section, what could be causing sharp intermittent pain radiating towards the back? It does not persist but is relived with Motrin 800mg. She has had some mild bleeding but nothing persistent. Seems to be related to the pain. Is it continued contraction of the uterus and/or changes in the pelvic girdle/low back muscles (although bleeding should not be oresent then), or something worse like an intestinal issue? What tests would you order: abdominal CT, abdominal u/s, etc?

My wife has had both...vaginal with the first and c-section with the twins...it a "pay now or pay later" Labor hurts more, c-section is a tougher recovery...failed labor then C-section is the worst

Isn't high incidence of c-sections also due to worries of complications of natural birth and the Dr. maybe ending up being liable having not done a c-section.

I am not an ob-gyn obviously but that would concern me...she should see her ob asap...radiating pain to back can mean a hematoma or pressure in the retroperitoneum...if she is still bleeding vaginally I would be concerned...she should have a CBC blood count done to see if she is bleeding heavily...I have seen women bleed heavily after c-section two wks out and need emergent hysterectomy and massive blood transfusions after going into DIC...but your wife doesnt sound this serious but she should see her doctor soon to rule out the bad stuff.

U/S and CT scan is warranted imho.
