Rumors about an M135i version have been circulating for months. Now there's official confirmation from BMW - not in the form of a press release but via a newly launched F20 accessories price list.

As you can see in the screenshots below, there's mention of the 135i, the 135i xDrive, and the M135i. The context is interesting too: The M Sport bumpers aren't available as aftermarket parts for the 135i and the 135i xDrive, likely because both models come standard with them. The M135i is mentioned with the drilled and slotted M Performance rotors we've reported about before (and which BMW just announced HERE). This likely means that the M Sport brakes are standard on the M135i.

The M135i is expected to be powered by the N55 inline 6 engine with an output of 320hp.

While the F20 M135i (like any other F20) won't make it to the US, this is interesting as there are other M Performance petrol models likely to hit US shores, namely a F30 M335i and -- as BMW insider SCOTT said recently -- the X1 xDrive M35i.

We expect BMW to pull the wraps off of the M135i soon, so stay tuned. For a preview, see some of the recent M135i spy photos:

We won't get the F20 (1-series 5 door) or the F21 (1-series 3 door), but we will get the F22 (2-series 2 door).

South, what will separate the M135i from the 135i? The aforementioned brakes, wheels/tires, and what else? The 135i can be equipped with both the M Sport and M Sport adaptive suspensions, so a different suspension is likely out.

The M135i will be an M Performance model which will be worked over by the M Division in key areas such as steering feel , handling and performance.
The same goes for other specific M-Performance models they will be significantly altered over their regular counterparts so that the customer is not getting the same car - The key to M performance will be in the details.

Scott, any hints when we could expect some news about the (rumored) F30 M335i?

Are we talking about a possible launch this year, 2013 or 2014?

Interesting. Looking forward to hearing some of those details, then.

On a slightly different topic, Scott. Have there been any internal discussions for a 2-series GC to compete with the A3 sedan? We'd love to get a small RWD sedan to replace our E46 -- the F30 is simply too big at this point.

I'm all about this for daily driving.

No doubt xDrive will make this 1er fun to drive on wet roads.

I hope to God this ends up available in Canada, so at least I can by one.

Would the m135i be comparable to the 1 series m coupe? That would be cool if it came w x drive, manual transmission, lsd, cfrp roof and the porcelain brake kit

instead of a power to weight ratio list, what about a power to mpg list?

No M7, and no such thing as an 8-series (anymore). There will likely be an M2, though an F20/21 1M is questionable.

And don't forget the X3, X4, X5, and X6, all of which will get the ///M treatment. The X1 will only get the M Performance badge.

Crazy that the Z4 doesn't get either (though the 35is might as well be an M Performance car).

On a different note, I grow more and more intrigued by the F35/6, and specifically, the F85/6. The next 24 months are going to be looooong.

So no mention of a M135ixDrive?

Still coming?

Will it have any differentiating mechanical (M) parts over the regular 135i or is the M part just about configuration and set up of the series car?

The headlights remind me of the ones on the E60 in this picture... Was that car designed by Bangle? That would explain this horrible front...

Edit : Oh fuck... It's a french guy who did it... http://www.bmwism.com/bmws_designers.htm (search for F20). The concept model looked better than the production model...
