Loved the movie and warming up to the series. Just finished episode 3 last night and things definitely getting interesting. I like that it makes you think too.

Alright - so we have to cross that bridge and ask the obligatory question:
If something like this existed, is it considered cheating on your significant other if it's a robot?? The wife and I were discussing it briefly last night while watching and couldn't really come to a conclusion, other than a very awkward "probably" since it's still a human experience; however, with a lot of questions and caveats to clarify the situation, haha

I bindge watched this last night and I was very entertained and impressed! I'm gonna check out the 70s Original just because of this.
The lead blonde is so attractive in a "girl from next door" kind of way. And she reminds me of a young Jodie Foster (not physically but voice and demeanor). I've been a fan of the Puerto Rican lead doctor actor for a long time. And who doesn't like Anthony Hopkins! |

Seems like an awful amount of work. This may be why it's like $40k per day to experience this. Interesting how some of them are starting to learn organically and remember memories. I think it is Meave who had the guy take the bullet out of her skin based on previous memories. The man in black has an interesting story as he seems to be quite known and powerful in the "real world". He didn't seem to take that one participant's gratitude very well. I wonder if this is just a large scale game to find some hidden answer that could potentially alter the real world. For duck fat It might be like One Piece. When computers start to create other computers, the world will be an interesting place. Could you imagine how fast technology will go when the computers are creating their replacements? |

Oh there are PLENTY of things to pick apart and question...
Why is no one questioning or monitoring the "movements and shenanigans" of Ed Harris character? Sure he's obviously wealthy but they/organization, still have a hugely profitable business to run! And 1 guy can't be running rampant doing whatever random shit he feels like! This is my biggest question though... How is it that these "customers" who delve into this realm/experience (several mind you at any random time) don't end up affecting some other paying customers own experience??? What would cause complete strangers/customers to not come across one another while in the game, to want to: fight, f***, murder each other etc??? |

I dont think the hosts "hard" reset perse but go into "sleep mode" and power down for a bit unless a guest is actively engaging. I also think that the park has operating hours just like any typical business but is flexible depending on the situation.
A host isnt just going to shut down at 11pm in the middle of a bar fight just to reset. Unless they are being engaged, they go to their specified location to lay down and "sleep". I dont think Elsie and her team just roll out to move everyone back into their spots. It's either they go back to their starting location/bed or just go with the flow of things. i.e. if you were banging Clementine all night when you're done and leave, she'd either 1)return to her normal loop mingling with the guests down stairs (if it were during normal operating hours) or 2)Sleep and wake up during the normal hours of her storyline. For all we know that these things can either sleep for 8hrs like normal or 5 min because there was a gap in time from the last interaction to their normal story. When Dolores is out with Logan and William, for all they know she just needs to get some rest but in reality it's just not time for her to be active as her system has finished evaluating whether or not she needs to interact with the guests or pass the hell out. For all they know hosts also need to sleep like normal people. There's also a theory about Logan: If you remember in Episode 3 - Younger Ford was looking at one of the more advanced hosts and this is a quick shot of him: Look familiar? Thus, creating the speculation of alternate timelines/universes, which could be what the "maze" is. |

Also notice that how he uses a knife a lot. I believe that the guests know that the hosts can get violent and it's recommended that the preferred form of self defense or confrontation is to be a firearm and not hand to hand knifed combat. Thus, if you get pissed at some other guest and decide to shoot him, it'll negate out. I'd make sense that the Delos corporation also includes some sort of waiver that if you do murder a guest or get killed by another, it's just part of it and you took the risk. However, I think pretty much all guests know the difference. You can kind of tell since usually the hosts know their story line and guests that are tagging along with them usually look flat out clueless. Like the guests that are rolling with Hector's squad. What confuses me is the Gunsliger/Man in Black's gun. He's shown modifying it when he goes to Lawrence's home town and kills is wife. So I think he's able to modify the weapon to be able to kill both guests and hosts. |

Another thing to point out was the ambush with Teddy.
As seen in the below picture the female guest with the long gun decides to stay and fight. The show made sure to show her that she's not scared to use a gun by her killing some other guy. However, during the ambush, her husband leaves with the black deputy in the red jacket. You may have noticed that her husband was not present when he arrived in town and was asked what happened. (This and the fact Teddy shot all the people and no one died) So what happened to the husband and why didnt the people that ambushed Teddy go down? |

Everything about Westworld creeps the fuck out of me.
Esp. when the droid in Ep.3 decided to bash his own head in. Ford is just the ultimate creepy grandfather type. Funny how after the secret with Arnold is out in Ep.3 it seems to keep coming back on Ep.4 We know everything that's going on... I wonder if Ford is also a droid

FYI, there is a 'fake' website for the Westworld park that gives you some of the rules and provides insight to how the system works.

I wondered if Ford was a host also after this past episode. Could have been created by Arnold with a conscious and then killed Arnold.
Also they say you can't be killed in Westworld, but can you be killed by another guest (a la Ed Harris threatening to slit the guests throat because he was on vacation)? The scene with Maeve was freaking crazy. Also her uncovering her past stash of drawings of the worker men who come in to take them away after they've been killed. Maeve has been a key part of the hosts' evolution from the start. SO many directions to go

The Muse has some good notes and theories: http://themuse.jezebel.com/in-westwo...ore-1788142015 One thing that was pointed out was of course how the Man in Black is a businessman and potential philanthropist in the real world. Also the show is starting to interlace his story a long with Logan and William, so that kind of moves away from the alternate timeline/reality of William being the younger version of the MiB. I think we saw a new side of Ford as the dont fuck with me type of creepy sinister guy. When he explained that nothing is sentimental to him and they showed the digger making a move to crush the restaurant - he means business. He's also basically using slave labor to build whatever he's doing. One think I think we all know for sure is that AI becoming fully sentient is not cool. Someone playing God is not cool. Maybe the MiB is there to finally create some balance. I'm sort of leaning toward the MiB might be the biggest twist... possibly even being the actual "good guy". Logan is another shady ass character that is still coming into light. We now know his family/company has a stake in the park, but why is he actually there? One thing I want to know, which probably is minor, but how the hell are they transporting the dead hosts and how does Dolores end up in the basement with Bernard? He teleport her or something? lol I'm kind of guessing that there are trap/secret doors like in the original movie that allow employees to access the park such has the Doctor's office in episode 1... It's closed, we havent seen a Doctor at all and Dolores couldnt open it. I want to see more of Angela (Talulah Riley) |
