19x9,5 BBS Challenge - Will it fit? (Rear)

Hello,

I'm about to order some BBS Challenge wheels for my new F21 M-Sport, but I'm not sure about the size of the rim. My supplier says that the widest rim that can fit on a BMW F21 in the rear is 19x9, is that right? I think I've seen more people in here posting pictures of their cars with rims wider than 9.5 ", or am I wrong?
Or is it true what the supplier says?

Hope you can help me so I can get ordered my new wheels :-)

LOL as if 245's don't look big enough from behind.

Going that big on the rear what are you putting on the front to stop it looking like a cartoon ride?

Iirc anything over an 8.5" will have issues.

you can comfortably fit 9.5" wide. but it all depends on your offset?

I think 8.5 up front and 9.5 up back is the perfect balance. gives you that flush fitment too
Ive seen up to 10" wide rear on these forums .

I think you get better balance with a square setup, like 8" front and rear. And even narrow wheels like 6" can have a flush fitment if you get the offset right, as in slightly lower than stock.

I'm running 8.5 in the front and 10 in the rear, 19" diameter.
As long as the offset is high enough (in the high 40's) you'll be alright.

And ovekvam is right. square setup is the best balance on our rides. I have a 18x8 square setup for tracking and the balance is way better than with my regular summer setup, which is for looks and not for racing
