Back to summers ?
SO here in Toronto, the weather is anything but consistent.
Which brings me to changing back to summers. The day time weather is into the teens at times, but night time lows are still below 7. I've attached some screenshots. SO this is WHAT I generally do WINTERS = when temps are 7 or below (over a 5 day period) that is night time or lowest SUMMERS = when temps are 7 or above (over a 5 day period) again judging by the night time however day times are all over the place... I'm worried about safety and tire wear your thoughts |

Probably just wait till May first.
I'd run my Michelin summers through two mid-atlactic winters, the cold weather itself never caused chunking like I read described on some Pirelli and Goodyear tires. Cold rain not an issue for me, but 1/4 inch of snow or freezing rain coating road surface just not worth the hassle on hills or braking |

Last year I did that, and it still snowed in may but I had all seasons on, and there was less than 2cm of snow on the ground and the temperature was around -2C. It disappeared the next day and was at a stable 10-12C for the next few weeks.

I would bias it towards being later putting on summers, rather than earlier. Before trading in my last car I ran it all summer on the winter tires, b/c I knew I was turning it in on them (Conti Wintercontacts). I was expecting it to just burn them right down, but they hardly showed wear. So now I wait a little longer, until confident it is above 40 (5 to you metrics) - the summer tires do chunk and crack if it is too cold, and real problems if you get caught out in a late snow, even if only a little dusting. I found a doctor who can induce one of those propofol comas for the next 2 weeks, that helps me with my impatience to get onto the summers .

Put them back on a month ago with no regrets.
With how useless our winters have been lately, I'm debating even switching back in the fall.

txs all,
I'm being a bit wussy, so yes I'll wait I think it's the day time temps that give me the itches. but I start early morning (out on the road at 430-5am) so I'm driving at the lowest part of the day... |

But it's comfort thing so if you feel like you need to wait a bit longer than definitely wait a bit til you are comfortable switching back to summers. Cheers, Rui. |

I changed already but to all seasons, summers made no sense when shopping as there is limited selection at a very high price and I hardly drive a sports car.

Oh, you metric system folks... j/k
In general, it seems that the Spring season is fairly short. Here in Chicago, the weather has fluctuated quite a bit. As someone who likes it cold, though, I don't mind. I still have snows on my X1 but will probably take them off since I still have the stock A/S RF's on my other set of wheels. Around here, I always expect one more snow once the weather is warmed for a while and the ground thawed. We had that last ditch effort by Old Man Winter already so we should be good to go.

If you r referring to my 1 series?? Tires are Toyo T1 proxies...great tires...zero issues.
if you r referring to my Z4M Coupe...Michelin PSS...again...great tire and zero issues On both cars...they get pushed hard too. You can't go wrong with either tire. My father has Conti tires on his 335 and on his Z4M...I've never heard him complain about Conti tires either. And again...both my father and myself wait til the day it snows to switch to snows and switch back at the earliest day in the spring...doing it this way for 15 years...ZERO issues Hope this helps! Nothing wussy about being safe. And I can feel the difference with summer tires on dry cold roads. I'll probably make the switch this week. Id rather eat up my winters than slip on my summers.

I generally switch to winters just before Thanksgiving (US Thanksgiving, the end of November ) and put summers back on in late March. But I'm down in Virginia so it's a bit warmer than Toronto lol
Another general rule is once there is no chance for overnight frost, the season is warm enough to put summers on. But I just made that up a couple years ago lol |
