BMW/Mini busted over Magnuson-Moss Warranty violation

http://www.autoremarketing.com/subpr...ranty-coverage
https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/pres...ly-conditioned
http://www.automobilemag.com/feature...law-violation/
etc...

tldr: BMW Mini division dealers got busted telling people their warranty would be or was voided by having non-OEM parts or non-dealer service. Oops?

I was always a little worried about this as I refuse to take my car to the dealer for something simple like an oil change. My local BMW specialist does it for 1/3 the price. Glad to know that it should now be pretty easy to tell off a dealer who tries to claim my warranty is void.
