Extended light package
So I see the m sport version comes with ambience light front and rear in front footwell and centre storage compartment. The 125i I sat in also had vanity mirror lights (is this standard on all 1's). And "colour switch" what different colours can I choose?
So what does the extended light package give me and is it worth it? |

You can select white or red light.
The downlights on the doorhandles can be handy to see if you step into a pool on the way in or out of the car. But is it worth the money? Maybe not. |

It's option 563, a relatively cheap option. Price around 250 Euros (Norway).
The most useful feature is what ove points out. Lighting in the trunk is another useful thing. Vanity mirror lights are part of this option ad well. The rest are more cosmetical ligtning, but add a nice touch to the interior. I'd say it's not a necessary option, but for that money I'd take it.

Necessary? No. But for me the interior ambient light is a huge improvement of the "quality feeling", and worth the reasonable price. The doorhandle-illumination is another bonus.

I only notice the interior lights when it is very dark outside, and then I pretty much want the car as dark as possible inside. It would be nice with an option to disable the ambient light.

Hi guys.
Does anybody know if it is possible to turn the door handle/puddle lights off? I'm about the order my first new car, a 116i M-sport. I'm thinking of adding the extended light package, but not sure if I'm so into the door handle lights... Beeing used to drive around in +10 year old wrecks this is a different world for me. I do understand the interior light can be dimmed down if needed. |
