Park assist or camera

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about adding one more option to my spec and might add park assist or rear view camera, just for fun. Which one would you go for, considering they cost pretty much the same?

Camera. Park assist requires quite a big space to work.

I would suggest the opposite...

Park assist is only for one type of parking (alongside the pavement), and useless in any other situation.
Rear camera is useful each time you back the car. You will be surprised how exactly you can maneuver the car in tight spots, even sideways. Besides is does not lie, since you also get the PDC included!

I haven't got the F20 yet (coming on Thursday), but I know rear visibility is poor. Same as my F12 where the camera is one of the most beloved options

My current car (VW Golf) has Park Assist, Sensors and Camera. I'd have to say I don't use the Park Assist but find both the sensors and camera very useful. In fact I'm surprised how much I use the camera - I thought it would be a bit of a gimmick when I bought it.

Needless to say I've ordered my 125i with the same options - Sensors and the RVC.....

oops- i thought part assist was just having rear sensors. i guess part assist parks the car for you, or helps you parallel park?

Having had both on an X5 hire car, i think its good to use them together. The sensors will pick things up the camera doesn't, but the cam is great for lining up straight in parking bays or against the curb. A problem i had with the camera was that in heavy rain, the camera gets water and mist on it, and at night you can't see much anyway.

Hope that helps

Alright cheers I didn't know the Park Assist only works for large parking spaces. So I guess it's a bit pointless then, as I would only use it for small parking spaces.
