12V outlet won't off

My F20 118i hatchback (base model), I connect my iPhone to the lighter but the power won't go off even after I lock the car... is it normal?

my experiance of lighter sockets is that once you remove the key from the car it will go out- perhaps because our keys are wireless, the sockets will remain on until your key is far enough away.

try leaving the car, locking it and try observing if the iphone stops charging.

Do you have comfort access? If you stay close to the car with your keys at night, it may keep the car powered up.

comfort access is an optional extra- what is standard is once the car is unlocked and your key is in range, the car will start. (i.e. no key hole)- kinda sucks that you need to pay more for something that is pretty much there already

True!

But coming from a software background I can't tell you how many programs I have supported that do exactly that.

At least BMW doesn't have the gall to charge you extra for a Manual transmission like some manufacturers do.
