Sportec (Akrapovic) Exhaust Availability

Dear Friends. I am not trying to mislead anyone by saying that the exhaust has come out. My German is simply too poor, and I don't really trust Google translate. It seems like (forgot where I read it) Akrapovic is going to market their exhaust for the M135i under Sportec name. If that is the case it might have already come out. The exhaust is supposedly 90mm in diameter, yet I am not sure if the 335i or other existing Akrapovic tail adornment fits on there.

If you are interest I guess it's time to make that inquiry I went to their German site to find it, in English I could not. I am sorry but my German is next to non-existent. Unfortunately it seems to be out for M135i for now, if at all.

If I am incorrect, of course, you'll have to forgive me

I see from the Sportec site that they sell Akrapovic, but no F20/F21 is mentioned.

Yes, looks like you are right. It is made from titanium, so it is probably the Akropovic with Sportec logos. It comes with approval papers as well.

Why would Akrapovic make an exhaust and sell it via Sportec, instead of selling it themselves ?

No one seems to know for now

For sure it makes more sense to use Akrapovic....

This is what the translation on the Akrapovic German site says.

Sportec offers a particularly well-tuned stainless steel exhaust system for the (almost) the successor to the 1 Series M Coupes with the beautiful 6-cylinder turbo in-line engine. The sound is decent sonorig development, but with the door open very athletic. Very good we like the robust nachbrabbeln when decelerating. The system reduces exhaust backpressure and causes a slight power increase of about 8 hp. Anyone looking for a performance upgrade, for which there is an additional downpipe with 200 cell sport catalyst metal.

Sport exhaust system with sound flap in stainless steel, electric flap actuation, (original link pipe for Kat is maintained) - 2xØ90mm titanium tailpipes with Sportec logo, TÜV approved

Price: € 3,272.50

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ditto with 2 stainless-steel tailpipes (as shown)

Price: € 2,990.00

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Downpipe V4A M135imit 200cpsi Kat

Price: € 1,963.50

I'm suprised the M135i exhaust has been handed over to Sportec rather than Akrapovic themselves. Do Akrapovic own Sportec or something, or is it some sort of sub brand?

.... And for those who haven't heard it, the Sportec exhaust for the M135i. I personally think its got a nice note to it, don't know whether I'd go for it over the M Performance exhaust

http://www.akrapovic-auto.de

This is not an Akrapovic website. This is a website from a German company ( called Foxx) that is reseller of Akrapovic, and their website pretends to be Akrapovic.
Now they also sell Sportec, and they just put the Sportec exhaust for M135i in the same website and menu as the Akrapovic products.

Don't be fooled.

Akrapovic has not yet release any exhaust for M135i, it will not come out until end of 2014
