Exhaust for M135i...

so the previous thread kinda died out
are we still stuck with Bastuck to be the only choice at the moment?

has anyone tried Bastuck before?

does Muffler + Mid Pipe require any ECU reflashing?

how much louder is the Muffler only?

if there are no other options soon I guess I am going with Bastuck Muffler only, if any of you have any experience to share with it would be great

Ordered mine, having it fitted next week! Installed the Hartge ECU a few weeks ago. Very happy with the added acceleration from low range and a noticeable difference through the mid range. Will be interesting to see how much louder the Bastuck system will be. I am hoping that the cabin drone is kept to a minimum.

have you got a quote for this yet from BMW?
im considering it too but i fear my hip pocket may not be able to handle it... especially after forking out so many large ones to get the car in the first place!

No, they don't have it here yet. May just import one myself but even then I've not seen anywhere that sells one.

I doubt we'll be getting the M exhaust... Spoke to dealer when grabbing my 125i and they said it does not pass ADR's for drive-by noise... On plus side, ecu upgrade is in testing

Hatge ECU as in the turbo piggy or a full ECO unit?

so did you get the Muffler only or full system?

Hartge ECU as in the piggy as this is the only option at this stage. I have opted for the muffler only.

Hi all
Bit confused Is there an option for exhaust upgrade for us in Oz that is warranty friendly
Down lower in the rev range I find a bit quiet. Up high is great but by then you are way over speed limit! Not necessarily looking for improved performance just better sound

Quite a few different choices now...

I made a video compilation of just about every performance party exhaust made for the M135i in this thread below.

Unfortunately, the site is down for maintenance right now.. Hopefully back up soon

I've got the race Milltek cat-back on my car. Initially wanted to go for the MP exhaust but was hesitant with having to cut the standard exhaust and supply issues in Aus (BMWAU dealers will not sell them due to ADR's and tuning shops were wanting $1800++) left me looking elsewhere

Heard a few videos of the Milltek system and was sold - have put 2000km on the exhaust now and could not be happier with the result. With windows down I get audible overrun in any gear, enhanced 'wharps' on upchanges and a much more metallic howl than the standard exhaust. Car is not noticeably louder whilst idling or in normal comfort driving, its only when you're WOT or in the upper rev range that it really starts to bellow.

Cold starts border on antisocial which is really my only complaint with the exhaust - don't get me wrong it sounds epic and I love it.. its just the surrounding 4 or 5 houses who don't
