Might be mistaken though?

Thanks for pointing this out, I will need to look into this as I recall reading a couple of threads regarding this issue.

Are you going with 2,000km break in process or since the m135 isn't a m power car we just go with the 1,000km

2000 KM and keeping it under 4000 RPM and no more than 140 KPH... Also easy on the brakes for the first 3000 Kilos

Is this still needed in modern cars? I heard so many different opinions about 'going easy' the first 1000km/2000km - ... What is really needed not to trash the car/keep the egine great throughout the full lifecycle?

I chose to trust the instruction in the owner's manual. It is the official document from BMW about how to treat the car.

Meant to say easy on the brakes for the first 300 not 3000. I pretty much follow the instructions.

this is what I'm doing i asked the mechanic in the dealership he said its better to follow the instructions. but they had some engineers visiting from Germany and they said that the engines are trained before they release the cars.

for me i'mm going to break it in and wait for the thrill of the first time i kick that throttle DOWN
