But it's built in England and not a great drive plus I'm not girl. So BMW gave Mini a lot of running gear and engines.

But if you look at reviews in the press, the Mini F56 is actually being more praised for being fun to drive than the BMWs. The lower weight and compact packaging helps giving it sharp handling. And the F20/F21 is also a girly car.

I am disappointed about not getting the Mini Cooper (and 218iAT) engine in the F20 LCI!

The current gen MINI made a big jump forward, thanks to all the BMW parts. Finish, infotainment, equipment, engines, platform, ...

This will be even more obvious in the MINI Clubman to come end of 2015. It will have xDrive, electric seats, electric ebrake, ...

Amazing little engine. Love the sound as well!

What's the criterion? I could never distinguish.

For MINI I would only guess Kiwi could mean lots(?) of show-off ("individualize", make-up) features offered, but they can be just omitted, AFAIK. I don't like MINI design but I don't really take it female, I just don't like it.

They are both a popular choice among women.
The Mini even topped a list of most popular cars among gay men.

Perhaps someone got confused and said woman instead of She
All the beautiful cars are referred to as 'SHE', so I for one am happy to own a F20

Unbelievable! Do you really mean to say Norwegian women favour the ugliest of cars over the prettiest ones? Or can they hardly afford the latter over the former?

What kind of statistics was it: owning or liking? ("Choices" seems to indicate owning.)

And anyway, was the statistics based on the number of owners/admirers among women or the number of women among owners/admirers? (I mean there can be a few women on Jaguars but among Jaguar owners they can still be the overwhelming majority, etc.)

It was based on buying cars. Cute retro cars like the Fiat 500 seems to appeal more to women than men, while very large cars with big engines have more male buyers.

Those that say the new MINI is not a great drive especially the Three Cylinder Cooper has never been behind the wheel.
MINI is unisex it has appeal to both Male and Female demographics.

I am considering replacing the F20 for an F56 Cooper, since I am slightly disappointed with the F20 LCI, particularly the engines. I don't like front wheel drive, but I like the lower weight and sporty setup.

Mini

Front wheel drive - never again for me! I'm fed up with that completely.

I would consider Mini Cooper S as an emergency setback only (due to it's "best handling in the class" reputation).

Yet, almost a stopping issue for me about Mini, besides it's ugliness, would be a decade or so back news I recall, claiming Mini was officially advertised as a *** car in the USA. That would be insulting if true!

The 1 Series is too big for me, actually, but no deliberate "one car - one cylinder" approach: I'd rather go up for 6 in that respect.

A man would not need anything he would look fresh and young next to really badly.

On the other hand (pricewise), Norwegian men must be happy their women claim Fiats rather than Jaguars.

SHOCK HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ovekvam going FWD. 'What weird things are happening in this world'.

The new Mini is OK if you have no other choices.

I would go for a 218i M Sport or 228i M Sport in preference and ditch its rear interior weight. Light, fun, looks and RWD

I am just considering it as an option. I haven't decided yet. FWD is not as bad as it used to be, the same way automatic gearboxes are getting close to acceptable.

The Mini F56 with the new 1.5l engine is really a fun car to drive. All the bells and whistles make it a even more fun. Rev-matching is awesome, and the torque is pretty amazing. Font-wheel drive is really annoying tho, especially during wet days. It's a shame the new LCI didn't come with a 177hp 1.5 3 cylinder engine with rev-matching. Especially the downshifts are great
