F20 LCI Steering wheel

Hey guys,

I've got a 07/13 build F20 125i with the M-sport pack and I've always wanted the M-sport steering wheel that the new LCI models have as I think the steering wheel in my car looks fat and ghastly.

If I order the new steering wheel is it plug & play or does the car need to be re-programmed? I can't find any solid information about this.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=32_2182

Hope someone can help!

Thanks

If the controls operations have not changed and from what I can see the connections look the same, it should swap.
The only issue is the airbag, it may have to be coded in.
If you are going to buy the wheel though your dealer, get a quote from them for the supply and swap over. That way it is covered by warrantee.

Just a side note.. That steering wheel isn't new to the LCI, it replaced the 'old' M-sport wheel in March 2014.

Ah thanks I had a feeling it was, but wasn't sure of the particulars.

Thanks for the info.

I did this swap on my sept 2013 m135i. Provided you disconnect the battery, there's no coding etc required.

In addition to the correct airbag, you will also need the correct button set for the new wheel as existing MFSW buttons aren't the same shape so won't fit.

Here's mine with m3/4 paddles and trim.

Hey mate, thanks for the info. Where did you source the wheel, buttons and airbag from?

Garage List
You can have my steering wheel next month, if we can agree on a fair price. I am opting for the Performance steering wheel in a couple of weeks.

Problem is: you will still need the airbag and some of the buttons. But as far as I know, it is not allowed to ship airbags by post so it would be the best to buy that from your local BMW dealer.
